Medgar Evers
45 years ago Medgar Evers was assassinated on June 12th, 1963. He was killed by Byron De la Beckwith. After his death His wife Mylie swore to get Justice for the deed. It took three Trials and 30 years to finally put the killer in Jail. All of Medgar's adult life was dedicated to ending segregation in Schools and fighting for Civil Right for African American. In fact the day before he was killed Medgar was planning another protest. In the interview Medgar 's wife described the importance of this anniversary. The importance of this is so people will learn more about the role he played in Civil Right as the leader of the NAACP. Some people forget that Civil Rights didn't start with Martin Luther King Jr. That it was going on even before he got into it.They forget it started before 1964. That's why it's important to remember what happened 45 years ago.
